Robert M. Sapolsky holds degrees from Harvard and Rockefeller Universities and is currently a Professor of Biology and Neurology at Stanford University and a Research Associate with the Institute of Primate Research, National Museums of Kenya. He is the author of The Trouble with Testosterone, Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers (both finalists for the LA Times Book Award), and A Primate's Memoir. Sapolsky has contributed to Natural History, Discover, Men's Health, and Scientific American, and is a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation genius grant.

Great book, nice to read! Opens a lot of insights not only into baboons social life. Having read the book leaves me with a smile on my face in situations where I would have got angry or frustratet before.
This is a very good book. We have seen many of Mr. Sapolsky's lectures on U Tube and so it was interesting to know more about him.
Apart from the many baboon stories, showing interesting social similarities to human societies in many aspects, Robert Sapolsky also manages to convey an authentic picture of Kenia and other african countries. With tongue-in-cheek humour, and an astonishing frankness the author keeps you entertained and riveted to the pages. This book sparked my interest in primatology, I am going to read other books on the subject now!
